Five Ways to Exchange – August 11, 2017

Every Friday we’ll be letting you know about a few choice happenings in the Exchange! If you have an idea for something to be featured, email nicholas@exchangedistrict.org with “Five Ways to Exchange” in the subject line.

THE STAGE

Rodriguez at the Centennial Concert Hall on Sunday, August 13

The subject of the Oscar-winning documentary film, Searching for Sugar Man, Detroit singer/songwriter Rodriguez, hits the gorgeous Centennial Concert Hall stage on Sunday night for an intimate concert experience. After releasing a pair of records in the early ‘70s, Rodriguez faded into obscurity until his songs became hits in South Africa, and upon the release of the 2012 documentary, he found fame throughout the rest of the world.

THE DRINKS

Cordova Tapas & Wine

If you haven’t been to the Exchange District’s newest watering hole, pop over to 93 Albert Street this weekend for a wide selection of wine from France, Spain and Italy (and a decent selection of beer as well). If you’re looking for something to nibble on while taking a few sips, Cordova mixes local farm grown vegetables with European flavours and spices.

THE SCENT

Coal and Canary Candle Company

What started as a project between two Winnipeg friends has turned into a product that has appeared in gift bags at the Oscars and the Grammys. Not only do Coal and Canary candles look great, but they smell natural and beautiful. Pop over to their new storefront at 73 Princess Street to get in on the international scentsation.
