In the Exchange for April 8-14, 2019

Here in the Exchange, there’s always something going on! From dining to shopping, or grabbing a show, here’s what goes on your calendar this week.

CaRaVaN Open Mic @ Forth (171 McDermot Ave)

April 8, 6:30pm

CaRaVaN is an “anything goes” open mic. A mix of music, spoken word, comedy, magic, dance, storytelling, or anything else you can think up, you’ll see a range of performances from experienced artists trying out new things to people taking the stage for the first time. Sign up begins at 6:30pm, with performances getting underway at 7. Those signing up can perform up to two songs (musicians) or five minutes (all others). The event is always free, but donations are appreciated and go a long way in helping CaRaVaN pay for new equipment, advertising, and of course its summer series at The Cube, which will be returning in May!

Visit CaRaVaN on Facebook for more information.

John @ John Hirsch Theatre (174 Market Ave)

On now until April 20

Jenny and Elias are taking their crumbling relationship on a tour of Civil War sites, in the hope that a few days in a Gettysburg bed and breakfast will bring them together again. Their quirky hostess is a collector of countless fondly displayed objects, each representing some ghost or memory. Featuring Annie Baker’s unique voice, this insightful reflection on human relationships reveals a Pulitzer Prize winner at the top of her game.
