Join us on the patio! For the second year in a row, the Exchange District BIZ is partnering with Jazz Winnipeg for a concert series at Bijou Patio. Located in Bijou Park, the tree-lined, cobblestone plaza between the Cube and Main Street, Bijou Patio provides a Euro-style open air dining and drinking experience in the heart of downtown.
Connor Derraugh holds a Jazz Performance degree from the University of Manitoba majoring in both sax and piano. Although his roots are grounded in jazz, Connor embraces many musical styles and is passionate about infusing rock, pop, blues, funk, and R&B songs with creative arrangements and melodic improvisations. Connor has performed at various events including the Downtown Concert Series, the Rady JCC Sports Dinner and Asper Jazz Series. In 2018, Connor and his band Ability were featured at the Winnipeg Jazz Festival and Connor returned to the festival in 2019 for a performance with vocalist Elizabeth Sadler.
In 2021, Connor filmed livestream shows in CCFM’s Mardi Jazz series and the Rady JCC’s Music and Mavens series. In addition, Connor joined the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra on sax for a spring livestream. A writer and arranger as well as a performer, Connor is currently recording his debut solo project, produced by Juno nominee Larry Roy.
There are no reservations and seating is first come, first served. All shows are free of charge to attend. This event is part of Love the Exchange, a week-long celebration of everything there is to love about the Exchange District.
