The artists: Laura Feeleus, Louise Lamb, Ingrid Lincoln, Lesley Turner

Four artists – two locations: the prairies and the pacific regions.

Four artists – four different media: paint, print, photography, textiles.

The resulting works explore the duality of media and place.

Laura Feeleus‘ practice centres on paint and textile. Her process is one of hiding and re-discovering, using colours, textures, composition and the right side of the brain. She lives in Victoria BC and holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Vancouver Island School of Arts.

Ingrid Lincoln

Ingrid Lincoln is a textile artist who is interested in colour and texture on fabric. Her works are mainly abstract and convey a mood. She holds certificates in Design and Embroidery from the City & Guilds of London Institute and a B.A. (Hon.) in Embroidered Textiles with Middlesex University, London, England. She has exhibited throughout Canada and the United States. As a result of two residencies at the Banff Centre; she has exhibited work relating to women who explored the Rocky Mountains at the Whyte Museum in Banff. She recently has been a mentee with the MAWA mentorship program.

Louise Anna Lamb is a Winnipeg Artist. She studied at the University of B.C in the Faculty of Fine arts and theatre. Teachers included BC Binning and Gathie Falk. She also studied with Derek Breukner, Rachael Tycoles, Diana Thorneycroft and Michael Boss through the WAG studios, Robert Sim at cre8ery, and various teachers through Martha Street Studios in print making. She has exhibited in the WAG adult student show, Mennotie Heritage Gallery, and at cre8ery.
Lesley Turner

Lesley Turner is a practicing artist and art instructor. She has a BA(Hons) 1st class in Embroidered Textiles, Middlesex University, London, UK and is a graduate of the Ecological Landscape Design program, Gaia College, Royal Roads University. She is a trained teacher with a BA in Geomorphology and has taught Fine Arts Textiles at the Victoria College of Art. She holds City and Guilds of London Institute certificates in embroidery and design, a University of Calgary Certificate in Visual Design and is a Master Knitter of Canada. She has exhibited across Canada, the UK, Germany, and South Korea. Lesley uses familiar domestic textiles and worn clothing to express her overriding goal to deepen awareness of our intimate relationship with the natural world. Her creative practice is sustained by living in the Pacific Northwest temperate rainforest ecosystem.
