Winnipeg painting and multimedia artist Jola Liebzeit explores how outwardly connecting with nature helps us inwardly organize and process our world. In her latest collection, she pairs florals and landscapes with chaos brushwork elements producing rhythmical nature-themed pieces. She choreographs a troupe of elements that includes loose brushstrokes, layered textures and expressive lines.
“Whenever the world becomes too chaotic, I seek out nature as my rebalancing partner,” Jola explains. “Lately it seems outer environments are becoming increasing confused as humans isolate. This sense of being alone on an island goes against our humanity. Flowers remind us to be more human.
