Artist’s Statement: I use abstraction for the level of detail it allows. I employ text, calligraphy, and symbolism, for how specific and yet open ended it can be, which brings a wider range of experience to viewing.

I find digital editing to be fascinating. To produce the full expression of my ideas I need to make them come to life in the physical world. I have turned to classic movie making effects to solidify my ideas into reality.

The abstraction found in my work is used as a visual poetry to bridge the gap between its own symbolism, the text, and the real world.

My greatest aim as an artist is to challenge my audience’s visualizations of what they see, and what they expect to see. Communication is extremely important, and I design my work to lean toward specifics, in close balance with my interests in abstraction. I embrace duality as I see fit, and to turn it toward contemplative ends. My recent addition of text and calligraphy has allowed a greater range of expression. My fascination with contemporary digital art is reflected in my constant search for greater detail, higher intensity colour balances, and ever expanding mystery.
