Johnny Broadway is a Canadian folk/pop/rock singer-songwriter with a penchant for rich story telling coupled with loops, effects, and a refusal to be shoehorned into any given style.
Originally from Windsor, Ontario, Johnny has been playing music and writing songs in various forms for over 25 years. His debut album, Discoverers, and follow-up EP, Paper Ship, explore themes of coming and going, looking for, and finding your way home. That home became Winnipeg, Manitoba – the heart of the Canadian prairies – where he saw kindred spirits in lyricists like John K Samson, Doug McLean, and Greg MacPherson. Recent singles include the pandemic-induced Endless Summer, Time Machine, an ode to the late great Jim Steinman, Zines, which pays homage to the classic artform, and Constellations, a throwback to the pop/punk days of his youth.
