About Nicole Regnier:
“Art is used to be a medium for individuals to communicate and to express ideas. My own personal work acts as a therapeutic tool to communicate my own emotions. The alcohol inks act as a medium to express my emotions and to separate myself from the pressures of society. Art for me is my fortress of solitude. It is in these moments that I can block out my worries, my anger, my sadness, and truly for once stop doubting myself. I don’t design a piece for a certain client or demographic, but for myself.
Although my work is very personal, I often wonder how the colours and patterns communicate to an audience. I have always been interested in the psychology of colour and the silent power it holds on our emotions. What I see to be joyous and soothing, may convey a different emotion to a different individual. These abstract pieces, are designed to be a portal away from society.”
Nicole Regnier is a recent graduate of Graphic Design at Red River College. She was selected to enter the advanced program – Communication Design – beginning Fall 2019. Nicole has been surrounded by art from the earliest years of her life. She is based in Winnipeg, MB.
