About Noontune
Noontune is a collective of young musicians who met at the University of Manitoba’s Desautels Faculty of Music. During their time together the members of Noontune have been able to collaborate and grow together as a group, honing their improvisational and artistic skills. New to the scene, Noontune has performed as the feature ensemble at the Canadian Jazz Summit, produced by the University of Manitoba and Jazz Winnipeg and all members of the group are part of the Winnipeg music scene and have played locally and nationally. Noontune’s members explore both original compositions and re-imaginations of standards, drawing compositional and artistic influences from the likes of Duke Ellington, Horace Silver, and Nicholas Payton.
