Drawing on childhood knowledge traditional decorative thread craft combined with a continued fascination with functional architecture, Anna Frances Robinson presents her new body of work Wired. Steel wire dollies, copper wire embroidery and paintings on lace create a dichotomy of soft and hard materials; the traditionally feminine and the typically male aspects. Elements of vintage décore and modern functional design punctuate her pieces in uncommon merging. These works incorporate several media and techniques, drawn from Anna’s personal history, education and desire to continue learning. This exhibition is dedicated to her grandmothers, who taught her how to knit and sew; and to all grandparents.
