Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division’s 2017/18 Audition Tour in Winnipeg

Each year Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School travels the country in search of talented dancers to join one of three Professional Programs: Ballet Academic (Ages 10+), Aspirant (Post-Secondary), and Teacher Training Program (Post-Secondary). Auditions take place in cities across Canada and into the United States and include a Q & A portion for parents and students, as well as master class in some cities. Students unable to attend an audition may send in a Video Application, which are accepted until May 1, 2018. Students who are identified with potential are invited to attend the second audition phase. The second audition happens in Summer Session throughout the month of July in Winnipeg. The Frost Shield Kerfuffle will present its first collective exhibition, We Have Nothing In Common Except Some Of Us Are Nice at cre8ery gallery, 125 Adelaide Street, 2nd Floor. The show opens with a reception on January 19th, 7-10 pm and runs until January 30th, 6pm. Regular hours January 20th to 30th are Tuesday to Friday, 12-6pm and Saturdays 12-5pm. The nine members first met while huddling together to stay warm in a Winnipeg bus shelter during the 1966 blizzard. Since then, the group - which consists of emerging, mid-career and senior artists - has been meeting on a regular basis.
