SUMMARY:the sky remembers: Exhibition by Taylor McArthur
DESCRIPTION:the sky remembers: an Exhibition by Taylor McArthur\nCurated by Justin Bear L’Arrivee \nOctober 17th to December 13th\, 2025 \nOpening Reception: Friday\, October 17th – 5-9 pm\nArtist Talk: Saturday\, October 18th – 1-3 pm \n‘the sky remembers’ brings together five years of Taylor McArthur’s digital works exploring Indigenous futurism\, kinship\, and unseen energy. Rooted in Indigenous futurisms\, the pieces engage themes of spirit\, land\, and memory\, creating cyclical visual languages and poetic transmissions through time and technological space. \nTaylor McArthur (Niná wašte šiyo poǧa hą́ska wíya / hummingbird woman) Nakoda of Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation. Raised in Southwestern Manitoba and currently residing in Montreal\, Quebec. She is a current Computation Arts Specialization undergraduate student in Concordia’s Fine Arts faculty. SUMMARY:A Number
DESCRIPTION:“A wonderfully unsettling triumph” – Independent \nWhat happens when you discover more than one YOU in the world? This psychological thriller explores themes of identity\, family dynamics and the ethics of scientific experimentation. \nBernard’s has contentedly navigated life as an only child. When his father reveals the truth about his place in the family order\, Bernard’s world is turned upside down. Father and son relationships can be complicated at the best of times but take on new meaning in a world where humans can be replicated. Caryl Churchill is at her unsettling best with this thought-provoking play about nature versus nurture\, the emotional impact of cloning and the moral implications of creating human beings for experimentation.

SUMMARY:Never Swim Alone by Daniel McIvor
DESCRIPTION:Two men enter a room. Two boys sit on a beach. They might be the same man\, and they might have been the same boy\, but it’s important that you know they are not. Two men\, mirror images\, haunted and bound by the boys they once were\, and a single moment during an endless summer.\nDaniel MacIvor’s dark comedy is a game of one-upping\, memory\, nostalgia and petty rivalry that bristles with tension and then explodes. A story about the one who wins\, and everyone and everything that gets left behind.\nWritten in 1991\, NEVER SWIM ALONE is eerily relevant today. \nFeaturing Jesse Bergen\, Ian Mikita\, Kerri Woloszyn\nDirected by Jane Walker\nStage Manager Kai Suzuki-Smith\nPresented by Snakeskin Jacket \nWednesday\, November 19 to Saturday\, November 22 at 7:30pm\nSunday\, November 23 at 2pm \nVideo Pool Media Arts Centre\n100 Arthur St

SUMMARY:Holland
DESCRIPTION:“Wow\, I think I signed less paperwork when we bought a house.” – Carrie \nThis world premiere is a hilarious madcap adventure\, an unflinching look at disability rights and a love letter to everyday heroes who will do anything for their people. \nCarrie and Paul are good people with solid friends and great kids. Another constant in their life is Alice\, an antagonistic social worker who holds all the cards when it comes to their disabled son. Alice makes promises but keeps few\, drowning the couple in paperwork\, denying basic services and bewildering them with impossible deadlines. Pushed to the brink\, Carrie takes matters into her own hands – in the most outrageous way possible – and goes from doing everything for her family to risking it all.

SUMMARY:Rovers v. Rogers
DESCRIPTION:“If you’ve got a vision\, never give up control.” – Ted Rogers \nA David vs. Goliath story for a new age\, Rogers v. Rogers examines the merits of fighting back\, the cost of ambition\, and the complicated legacy of love and defiance in the shadow of power. \nTelecom tycoon Ted Rogers spent a lifetime turning Canada’s airwaves into money — and a company into a virtual monopoly. Now his son Edward is fighting to take control of the family empire. At the same time\, a wily public servant is determined to block a billion-dollar merger. Ambition\, defiance and public interest collide in a battle of wills.

SUMMARY:Soulful Seasons: Transitions of Change\, Solo Exhibition by Jordan Miller
DESCRIPTION:Soulful Seasons: Transitions of Change\, March 6 – April 4\, 2026\n210 Gallery\, 210 Princess St\, Winnipeg\, MB\nExhibition Hours:\nMarch 6: 10am to 9pm\nMarch 7 to April 4\, 10 am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday; Saturday 12-5pm.\nGood Friday\, April 3: 6-9pm (closed during daytime hours)\nWebsite:\nExhibitions | 210 Gallery\nArtist Statement\nReaching deep on an emotional level\, striving to create art infused with soul and beauty\, the works presented in this exhibition resonate beyond the surface idea of abstracted landscapes. This process has become an essential part of my artistic identity\, grounded in the exploration of emotion\, connection\, and reflection.\nEach piece unfolds through the layering of multiple alcohol ink colour blends\, manipulated through droplets\, brushes\, knives\, and other tools\, revealing complexity and harmony. The final layer\, featuring carefully and randomly placed lines and dots in acrylic\, suggests a journey that is more controlled than the flow of ink in the layers below\, while following the path presented. The dots move rhythmically across the surface like steps on a life map\, representing the paths we walk\, the choices we make\, and the passage of time.\nThe act of applying each dot is both deliberate and meditative\, a process that bridges the visual and the introspective. Working on these pieces reflects a moment of contemplation\, an opportunity to process the truths in the news\, in life\, and in my health journey. Each piece translates into something tangible\, luminous\, and deeply human.\nMy artwork continues to evolve as life around me changes. The big shifts that unfolded in 2025 have brought new perspectives\, adventures\, and moments to process\, each one finding its way into the work as it grows and transforms.\nJordan Miller\, a Winnipeg artist\, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba in 2002. She holds a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Winnipeg. She was the founder and owner of cre8ery gallery & studio for 18.5 years before closing May 1\, 2025 to become a full-time artist and part time art mentor.\n\nShe was the recipient of the 35th Annual Woman of Distinction Award\, in the Arts Category (2011) and she was one of three finalists for the Future Leaders Of Manitoba Awards (2015).\n\nJordan has exhibited at Pulse Gallery\, Birchwood Art Gallery\, Fleet Galleries\, cre8ery\, Gallery Lacosse\, Urban Shaman Gallery\, Gallery 111\, outworks\, Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba Gift Shop\, Gallery in the Park\, Prairie Fusion\, Gallery 210\, and Golden Prairie Arts Council.\n\nShe is a member of Manitoba Society of Artists\, Creative Manitoba\, Manitoba Arts Network\, Artists AccessAbility Network Manitoba (and board member) and Mentoring Art for Women’s Art (MAWA). She is collected across Canada\, the United States and in several countries around the world.  She is collected by the Province of Manitoba and by Winnipeg incorporated businesses.
