SUMMARY:Holland
DESCRIPTION:“Wow\, I think I signed less paperwork when we bought a house.” – Carrie \nThis world premiere is a hilarious madcap adventure\, an unflinching look at disability rights and a love letter to everyday heroes who will do anything for their people. \nCarrie and Paul are good people with solid friends and great kids. Another constant in their life is Alice\, an antagonistic social worker who holds all the cards when it comes to their disabled son. Alice makes promises but keeps few\, drowning the couple in paperwork\, denying basic services and bewildering them with impossible deadlines. Pushed to the brink\, Carrie takes matters into her own hands – in the most outrageous way possible – and goes from doing everything for her family to risking it all.

SUMMARY:Soulful Seasons: Transitions of Change\, Solo Exhibition by Jordan Miller
DESCRIPTION:Soulful Seasons: Transitions of Change\, March 6 – April 4\, 2026\n210 Gallery\, 210 Princess St\, Winnipeg\, MB\nExhibition Hours:\nMarch 6: 10am to 9pm\nMarch 7 to April 4\, 10 am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday; Saturday 12-5pm.\nGood Friday\, April 3: 6-9pm (closed during daytime hours)\nWebsite:\nExhibitions | 210 Gallery\nArtist Statement\nReaching deep on an emotional level\, striving to create art infused with soul and beauty\, the works presented in this exhibition resonate beyond the surface idea of abstracted landscapes. This process has become an essential part of my artistic identity\, grounded in the exploration of emotion\, connection\, and reflection.\nEach piece unfolds through the layering of multiple alcohol ink colour blends\, manipulated through droplets\, brushes\, knives\, and other tools\, revealing complexity and harmony. The final layer\, featuring carefully and randomly placed lines and dots in acrylic\, suggests a journey that is more controlled than the flow of ink in the layers below\, while following the path presented. The dots move rhythmically across the surface like steps on a life map\, representing the paths we walk\, the choices we make\, and the passage of time.\nThe act of applying each dot is both deliberate and meditative\, a process that bridges the visual and the introspective. Working on these pieces reflects a moment of contemplation\, an opportunity to process the truths in the news\, in life\, and in my health journey. Each piece translates into something tangible\, luminous\, and deeply human.\nMy artwork continues to evolve as life around me changes. The big shifts that unfolded in 2025 have brought new perspectives\, adventures\, and moments to process\, each one finding its way into the work as it grows and transforms.\nJordan Miller\, a Winnipeg artist\, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba in 2002. She holds a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Winnipeg. She was the founder and owner of cre8ery gallery & studio for 18.5 years before closing May 1\, 2025 to become a full-time artist and part time art mentor.\n\nShe was the recipient of the 35th Annual Woman of Distinction Award\, in the Arts Category (2011) and she was one of three finalists for the Future Leaders Of Manitoba Awards (2015).\n\nJordan has exhibited at Pulse Gallery\, Birchwood Art Gallery\, Fleet Galleries\, cre8ery\, Gallery Lacosse\, Urban Shaman Gallery\, Gallery 111\, outworks\, Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba Gift Shop\, Gallery in the Park\, Prairie Fusion\, Gallery 210\, and Golden Prairie Arts Council.\n\nShe is a member of Manitoba Society of Artists\, Creative Manitoba\, Manitoba Arts Network\, Artists AccessAbility Network Manitoba (and board member) and Mentoring Art for Women’s Art (MAWA). She is collected across Canada\, the United States and in several countries around the world.  She is collected by the Province of Manitoba and by Winnipeg incorporated businesses.

SUMMARY:Sound Like Light 2026
DESCRIPTION:Returning to Lights On the Exchange is the second edition of Sound Like Light\, the festival’s signature live event\, where music\, sound\, and light collide. \n– BUY YOUR TICKETS HERE – \nThis year we’re taking over Manitoba Centennial Concert Hall’s Sound Bites Room for an immersive evening of pulsating beats\, live sound art\, musical performance\, and dynamic DJ sets\, augmented by live digital projections by festival curators Manufacturing Entertainment. \nThe evening will be anchored by music selections from a roster of DJs\, featuring Wanda G\, DJ $uraj\, and DJ Hunnicutt\, and will feature live performances by Compost (MB) and Colby Richardson (ON). \n\nCompost is nutrient rich music for a healthy body and mind. It’s the grit and grind of deep bass and decomposing blown up beats from which flowery keyboards blossom. The instrumental trio\, composed of Julian Beutel\, Eric Roberts and Justin Alcock\, references ’90s beatmakers and European electronic music\, cycling between movement and meditation. \n\nColby Richardson is a media artist\, experimental filmmaker\, and sound artist currently based in Toronto\, Ontario. He’ll be closing out the evening with Dimmer Switch\, a performance for sound and light that takes advantage of the inability of compact fluorescent light bulbs to properly dim.
