The Peg-City Brass 5tet is a Winnipeg-based brass quintet committed to sharing the artistry of brass music across Manitoba. With a focus on both performance and education, they engage audiences through concerts, workshops, and outreach programs, aiming to make high-quality brass music more accessible and inspire the next generation of musicians.
The quintet includes trumpetists Justine Auger and Daniel Lehmann, hornist Rachel Côté, trombonist Eric Prodger, and tubist Justin Hickmott. Together, they bring experience from leading Canadian orchestras like the Winnipeg Symphony and Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and have performed at renowned festivals such as Tanglewood and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.
Rooted in a love for chamber music, the group brings brass to schools, small communities, and new listeners. With French-speaking members, they also connect with Winnipeg’s Francophone audience, offering bilingual programming and educational outreach.
Through masterclasses, performances, and workshops, Peg-City Brass strives to keep brass music vibrant and accessible in Manitoba’s musical landscape.
