Join us at the Laundry Room Theatre from August 2nd to August 10th to watch independent and experimental films from Manitoba and around the world. The ever-popular Alleyways Market, curated by Lucky Girl Pop Up is back on Elgin (between Lily and Bertha) with a fine showcase of amazing makers, local food and good vibes. ArtSpace will be opening up their drayway to create an art lounge. The TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival starts this week and we sat down with Artistic Director Michael Falk to talk about this 11-day celebration of jazz and jazz-related music, and what to look forward to this year. To sum it up, this year there’s more to see than ever before! Hi. I’m Lindsay Somers. I’ve been working in the Exchange District since 2005. In the last 13 years, the Exchange District has been a constant creative influence on my life and career, silently supporting and shaping me to become the active living urbanist I am today.  I started my career working in the Silpit Building as an intern at Buffalo Gal Pictures. I learned the difference between Albert and Arthur St by walking around dropping off paperwork and contracts to the many other film partners in the neighbourhood.
