Bijou Patio

a European style open air dining and drinking experience in the heart of the Exchange District

Bijou Patio, located in between the Cube and Main St is offering a new patio experience in the Winnipeg. In collaboration with local businesses, Bijou Patio will bring the Exchange to you.

Featuring draft pours from local neighbourhood brewers Little Brown Jug and Nonsuch, the Bijou Patio is your hyper Winnipeg local patio destination. Additional bar menu items include Dead Horse Cider and Prism Kombucha. Ellement Wine and Spirits curated our wine list.

The Exchange District is home to some of the best dining in the city – at Bijou Patio we are delighted to deliver the best of Exchange directly to your table.

“We wanted to highlight neighbourhood talent and offer the opportunity for people to enjoy Exchange District favourites while sitting comfortably outdoors” says organizing partner Mike Del Buono, of King + Bannatyne, who coordinated the smart phone food ordering system, which has Bijou Patio “runners” deployed to pick up orders and deliver them right to the table.

Participating restaurants include Shawarma Khan, Boedgoes, King + Bannatyne, and The King’s Head, and Peasant Cookery. The Local Eats menu will continue to grow with more restaurant offerings in the coming days and weeks.

“The Exchange District is one of Winnipeg’s favourite summer neighbourhoods,” says Exchange District executive director, David Pensato. “Through conversations with the restaurants, we saw that there was a real opportunity to add patio space for those with limited capacity and provide something unique that will draw people into the neighbourhood— maybe you’re missing Jazz Winnipeg or Fringe, or maybe you’re just looking to sit on a patio while supporting small businesses, either way, we think you’ll enjoy the atmosphere.”

The Bijou Patio is located in Bijou Park, the tree-lined, cobblestone plaza between the Cube and Main St. Open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 11pm, the large open air patio will monitor capacity to ensure enough space for physical distancing for all patrons. And yes, dogs are welcome.
